Getting Started
Signing up, joining or creating a clinic, and finishing the walkthrough tour.
From the home page, select Get Started in the top right corner. You'll then choose whether to join an existing clinic or create a new one, and finish setting up your profile.
Joining just needs your clinic's invite code — select the join button and enter it. Creating a clinic asks for a clinic name and a logo; if you don't have a logo ready, skip it and add it later in Settings.
Three ways: sign up with Google using the tab at the top of the page, enter your name, email, phone, and password manually, or verify the details you entered with a code sent by email or text.
Enter your info and select Send Verification Link. Open the email in your inbox and select Verify Email Address — this brings up a prompt to secure your account.
When prompted, choose either a text message or an authenticator app. With text, enter the code sent to your phone and your account is secured.
Yes — select the X in the corner at any point to exit it. It covers Caseload, Admin Panel, Billing, Security, and Settings if you'd rather take it all the way through.
Caseload & Patients
Your patient list, what it shows you, and how to add someone new.
In Caseload, the first item in your left-hand navigation bar. This is where most clinicians spend most of their time in Dbrief.
Reading left to right: patient name, their next session, their latest diary card entry, their next scheduled reminder, their diary card completion rate, and their streak.
Select Add Patient, enter their name, and choose whether to invite them by phone or email. This button appears both in Caseload and in the top right of the app.
They receive the invite by phone or email. Once they verify it, you can start assigning diary cards and using the rest of Dbrief with them.
Overview, Analytics, Scheduling, Diary Card, and Profile. You'll live in these day to day once a patient is added.
A weekly diary overview built on a Marsha Linehan–standardized outline — a quick but comprehensive snapshot of your patient's emotions over the past week.
Diary Cards
Customizing, templating, and previewing diary card questions per patient.
It's not one-size-fits-all. Every patient starts on Dbrief's standard DBT diary card, and in that patient's Diary Card tab you can layer custom questions on top of it — useful for tracking symptoms or goals specific to that person.
In that patient's Diary Card tab, select Add Question at the top, fill in the fields, then select Add Question again to save it.
Yes — drag a question to reorder it, or select Edit to change anything about it.
The question type from a dropdown, the exact prompt text, how it's delivered (including by phone call), the response scale your patient uses, and any custom fields you want to add.
Yes — describe the question and subfields you want to the AI Assistant and it builds and adds it to the existing list automatically.
Select Experience Demo to preview it from the patient's side. Select Back to return, and your editing tools are right there if you want to keep adjusting.
A template is a saved question set. Select Save as Template, give it a name and optional description, and you can load it onto other patients instead of rebuilding the same questions from scratch each time.
Your choice — when saving, decide whether it's visible only to you or to every clinician in your system. Later, filter between personal and clinic-wide templates in the Templates section.
By the SMS reminder at the days and times you set for them, or by phone call.
Analytics & Scheduling
Reading patient trends over time, and setting reminders and session days.
The same insights from the Overview screen, visualized as graphs. As new patient data comes in, the graphs update automatically and start revealing patterns and trends.
Yes — select Select Graphs and toggle the ones you want visible.
Yes, with the Days tab — anywhere from the most recent 7 days to all-time data.
Yes — whenever you add a new question to the diary card, a matching graph populates automatically in Analytics.
In Diary Card Scheduling, choose which days and times that patient receives their SMS reminder — anywhere from once a week to every day.
In the Scheduling tab, select the days you're set to meet with that patient under Therapy Session Schedule.
They're notes to yourself ahead of a session, available in the Weekly, All Entries, and Calendar views. Only you can see them — your patient cannot.
Patient Records
Consent forms, medications, visibility settings, and printing history.
In that patient's Profile tab, where you can download it directly.
Yes — toggle that visibility from the Profile tab.
In the Profile tab, alongside the consent form and the analytics-visibility toggle.
Yes — use the Print tab on the left for a hard copy of the diary card analytics.
Admin & Billing
Inviting clinicians, managing access, and managing your clinic's seats.
From the Admin Panel, invite them by email, phone, or by sharing your clinic's unique code. Once they accept, their name appears on that page.
Select the three dots next to a clinician's name, choose Manage Patient Access, and pick which patients they can view.
Yes, all from the Admin Panel. You can also transfer ownership of the clinic account from the same place.
In Billing, select Add 1 Seat to add one, or Reduce at Next Cycle to remove one starting next billing cycle.
Settings & Support
Account security, display preferences, and getting help.
Go to Settings → Security and select Change Password.
Yes — under Settings → Clinic, choose whether they appear on your dashboard.
Toggle it at the bottom of the screen — it's available from anywhere in Dbrief.
Go to Feedback, type your request or bug report in the field, and select Submit Feature Request — the same field handles both.
Email team@dbriefhealth.com, or use the feedback section under your Settings tab.
